Records posted by the Electronic Frontier Foundation following a freedom of information lawsuit\u00a0filed last year\u00a0reveal that federal agents would pay Geek Squad managers who pass on information about illegal materials on devices sent in by customers for repairs.<\/p>\n<p>Now the question comes up, is this a bad or good thing ?\u00a0 Does this infringe on our privacy rights or does it capture pedophiles or other unsavory characters.\u00a0 \u00a0 Once a machine is given to a repair unit such as Geeks or any other they lose those privacy rights immediately upon machine delivery.<\/p>\n<p>This is a dangerous area where private rights can disappear in seconds and could destroy people&#8217;s characters. That being said does it mean the repair people should look the other way when they discover something bad. Now for an example if a IT repair person found a mad bomber doesn&#8217;t it seem correct to turn in the evidence to the FBI ?\u00a0 So really what is the difference between a mad bomber and a pedophile, both are evil at best and should be turned over.<\/p>\n<p>Freedom is a big measure we as Americans can attest to but if a figure can hurt or damage property shouldn&#8217;t the repair people turn them over ?
